Great article. Great resources. I do find it quite odd that people will reject sellers. As an affiliate marketer and new blogger myself, this is extremely frustrating. Now, I know there could exist a reason for rejection, especially within marketplaces, however, I haven’t the faintest idea why they would off the bat. I have heard it reduces epc’s (earnings per click), but, I don’t get why people care about this other than for some contests internally. Which in my opinion hurts less than refusing essentially free eyeballs on your products.
Ohhh making that first affiliate sale might be the greatest feeling ever, even if it’s 18 cents. Here’s the sad thing though: most networks will have a minimum payout threshold that’s typically $50 or $100, so it may be a LONG time before you see the money. I used to be an affiliate for BlueHost, and after my first sale, I was stoked to see $65 in my affiliate report!! Legitimately, I felt like a millionaire. Unfortunately, BlueHost has a minimum payout of $100, so that money went untouched until I made another sale, but even then…
While it is true that launch jacking can be competitive, usually that is because people are reviewing the popular offers that pay big. If you go on Muncheye there is an “all offers” category to choose from that is much less competitive. And of course, your site needs to build up some authority before ranking well. It is still very doable. Regarding Amazon, that does suck but remember you still get credit for other products that you aren’t even promoting becuase your link is cookied. This still makes it worth it in my opinion, especially if your traffic is organic. As for Savage Affiliates, Franklin does update the course. I’ve seen it change frequently with updated videos. The good thing is when Franklin does updates you get them for free, instead of charging for them like other course creators do. Hope that helps!
I did a lot of research to find the right one, and so I chose Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing by Michelle Schroeder-Gardner (as I mentioned earlier). I figured it made sense to learn from the best, and with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee, I had nothing to lose. I chat WAY more in-depth about it in my review here, but this course was definitely a gamechanger for me.
Awesome article, affiliate marketing is the best source of income for every blogger or website. Shopify is the leading hosted e-commerce solution for retailers. They represent retailers small and large. It makes a lot of sense for many retailers to use Shopify. There other solution is to use WooCommerce which will require both WordPress and WooCommerce support capabilities or Magento which will usually require external support for setup and maintenance. These are both expensive items when you consider the time you spend dealing with technology – not retailing.
Thanks for the list! I have to admit that I mostly see repetitive affiliate programs in different blogs. I saw so many new opportunities to consider. I have my own Youtube channel, so I hope these programs apply not only to bloggers but to Youtube influencers as well. I was looking for some new partners in the tech sphere, and I found this one: https://www.virtualonlinelearning.info/. I was wondering if anyone worked with them and know if they are any good?

Hello Niambi thank you so much for your comment on this post. I am so sorry that this has happened to you because of content that you read on my blog post. The content that I shared here, where link URLs are concerned is in relation to social media sites like Facebook and YouTube which is what I touched on when I gave suggestions as to how to promote your affiliate links. I did not speak about Pinterest in this post and would not provide advice on something that I am not versed on.
Actually Nunya, Jafar’s English is very good, with only a few very minor errors, and far better than most English speakers. It is simply not true that you can “barely read it”, it’s as good as yours. Most Americans, Australians and British I see online have very poor spelling and grammar, and use memorized abbreviations and SMS-speak instead wherever possible. You cannot sound as if you have something to teach people, if it sounds as if you still have to learn basic literacy yourself!
We have “Carefully” scoured through ALOT of the “Affiliate Networks” in hopes of adding the right content for our visitors. The trueth is; whether it be the least popular networks OR the top notch programs, they each have various conditions which will screw you from generating revenue. Adding their links and promoting their advertisers is nothing more than a waste of YOUR time and YOUR webspace if you don’t get paid to have them there sooo, don’t get in a hurry to join any affiliate programs until you read through their “Terms & Conditions” thoroughly and completely!

Hey Geno, Iove this article thanks for sharing. I just finished setting up my first blog and currently looking to invest in an affiliate marketing course. I keep reading reviews about Savage Affiliates but can’t make up my mind because of the price. I understand it has a ton of value which I can kind of justify for the price but then again in some reviews they are saying it is great. Would love to get your opinion on it and is it something someone needs when first starting out. Thanks again for the tips. I’m on the fence if I should sign up or not.
ClickBank is known by most affiliate marketers and digital product creators. Like JVZoo, Warrior Plus, and 2Checkout they specialize in digital products. They specialize in info products with health, dating and self-improvement offers.

Use variety. Mix and match affiliate ads so you don't overwhelm your visitors (content-embedded affiliate links usually have the best click-through rates over image links.) Consider using a lead page and funnel system to market your affiliate business. Lure prospects to your email list with a free offer and include links to your affiliate product pages.
Hey Chukwuka! Thanks for stopping by and trusting my opinion on this. I think that if you’re starting out, it’s best to plug into a community and get training and insight within the industry. Some communities are more intertwined with JVZoo and others with WarriorPlus, but you really want to be in a community that’s able to encourage you to be successful in your chosen niche.
Secondly, you’ll also need to provide a way to get paid. Many affiliate programs pay via Paypal so it will be a necessity that you get a Paypal account. All you’ll need to share is your Paypal email address. Still, other programs will want to pay via direct deposit into a checking account. This is why it’s also a good idea to register for a free business checking account.
Similarly, if you're making lots of landing pages, it's nice to have help. Instapage is the best app for working with a team because of its handy collaboration tools. Everyone can edit the page in real-time, much like in Google Docs, or they can add comments to any section of the page to highlight things they think need to be changed. Instapage also includes heatmaps (so you can see how people interact with your sites), dynamic text replacement, and A/B testing—great for fine-tuning as many pages as you need to.
Hey Cliff, building a successful, informative blog is a whole (massive) topic to tackle in itself 🙂 My tips here are more meant for beginner/intermediate bloggers who are seeking to monetize their existing blogs through affiliate marketing.
Giving away a free informational product such as an e-book, an email series or a mini-course is a popular tactic many affiliate marketers use. Usually, your readers will have to provide their email addresses to receive the product from you. You can then use this to sell to them via email marketing. Additionally, an informational product can generate interest in the actual product you're trying to sell. If your product is popular enough and brings enough traffic to your site, you could also monetize the traffic in other ways, such as AdSense.
Great post and right on target. I found that if you blog and/or do videos that sharing little stories will help connect you to potential leads. I do how-to videos and posts and I always tell personal stories or my own experiences that relate to the subject. It works and I get personal messages from people about it. It makes you more real and down to earth in the viewer's eyes. Once they like you and trust you they will become a lead and hopefully a sale. They may very well become a regular buyer because you will be their go to person. For best results it's best to blog daily and do at least one video a day.
So the same concept needs to be adapted with your approach to affiliate marketing. Look at your competition (the ones that are winning obviously) and just do what they do. You aren't going to copy the content word for word but you're going to write about similar topics. Affiliate marketing courses can help you analyze competitiion so you're better prepared.
If you believe your blog readers or website visitors are interested in exploring web hosting platforms (for instance, if you write content for freelancers), this could be a good option to explore. Best of all, the company promotes eco-friendly alternatives, so you can feel good knowing you're spreading a positive, "green message" to your site visitors.
The best way to obtain website traffic is through free search engine referrals. However, obtaining traffic from the search engines takes time. You should expect to create content for your site for about 6 to 12 months before the search engines really start showing you some love. In the meantime, there are so many other places you can obtain website traffic from. That’s what these tutorial videos will show you. Everything form creating email marketing lists to social media marketing and even how to write a blog post to increase how many people share it – it’s all there. This is the best tutorial section to go through first because it will lead to returns sooner.
